2006 Summer Workshops at Hummingbird
in Southern Oregon's Applegate Valley

Leslie Lee - July 28-30

“Figurative Teapots ”

Workshop Description
9AM to 4PM Basic supplies and lunch are included.

Figurative, or Narrative, Teapots launched Leslie Lee into professional ceramics back in 1987 when she attended her first American Craft Enterprises show in Baltimore. Eventually she moved away from this form, but to this day she still receives inquires about "those wonderful teapots".
This workshop will enable participants to follow Leslie through the design concept of working the body, handle, spout and lid of a teapot into a figurative sculpture and then constructing it step by step. Along the way there will be many tips and techniques that will serve a creative ceramicist in many other applications, and discussion of firing options, including raku, cone 6 oxidation and "room temperature glazes" (various kinds of paint).

Some ceramic experience is helpful for this workshop.

$265* per workshop - $20 discount for registrations before May 1

Registration Form Open as of 6/13/06
Both B&B rooms have been reserved
